Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our adoption fees vary depending on the animal and their medical needs. Typically, our fees range from $50 to $200.

First, you will need to fill out an adoption application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meeting with you and the animal you are interested in. If the meeting goes well, you can take the animal home with you that day.

Across the top of our homepage, you will find a drop down box that will take you to the page needed to receive a spay/neuter voucher. We cannot provide medical services other than Rabies Vaccination for any owned animals.

You must schedule an appointment during business hours to surrender an animal. This allows staff the time needed to have the area prepared for a new animal. We CANNOT accept surrenders outside of Tucker County. It is our due diligence to the taxpayers of our county to honor this. We require a $30 fee per animal to help with the costs of vetting and housing while the animal is in our care.

First, contact Animal Control or the Animal Shelter immediately. If the animal was found at large in Tucker County, you may bring the animal to the shelter during business hours for intake. If you are not able to secure the animal safely on your own, Animal Control will assist in securing the animal and bringing it to the shelter for intake. All at large animals will be placed on a 5 day stray-hold, per State Code before being vetted and evaluated for adoption.
